Description of the job

As a Section Chief within the A220 Fuel Engineering Group, you will lead a group of engineering professionals (direct and indirect) in the continued development of fuel and fuel tank inerting systems for the A220 program. You will also be responsible to ensure continued support from fuel systems engineering for production, as well as all continued airworthiness and safety findings related to fuel and inerting systems.

In your role, you will:

  • Manage workload amongst direct reports and indirect personnel supporting the team, within the agreed budget and schedule
  • Represent A220 Fuel Engineering when interacting with suppliers
  • Represent A220 Fuel Engineering when interacting with other functions within Airbus, both locally and with international colleagues
  • Be responsible for the personal development of your direct reports
  • Strive towards continuous improvement, leading by example

As our ideal candidate,

  • You possess at least a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of fifteen (15) years pertinent experience.
  • You are a self-motivated team player and able to work with limited supervision.
  • You possess good interpersonal skills in order to interface with different groups and suppliers as well as good written and oral communication skills in English and French.
  • You have a broad knowledge of CAR 525 / FAR 25 related to one or more of the systems above.
  • Travel, sometimes at short notice, is expected
