Description of the job

The STEP (Synchronized Target Embodiment Point) is a new A220 program driven initiative, aiming at synchronizing product modifications in order to answer the top A220 Programme objectives (cost reduction, customer satisfaction) while minimizing their industrial impact.

The A220 chief engineering is a transverse organization reporting to the A220 HO Engineering and Chief Engineer, aiming at maximizing efficiency between all current and future incremental developments while maximizing product life cycle value. Chief engineering is a program driven function collaborating with all cross-functional stakeholders such as configuration management, marketing, industrial, services&support.

In your role, you will:

  • Lead the transverse technical teams involved in the STEP (internal, suppliers, Airbus Europe), in conjunction with the STEP program leader (two-in-the-box principle)
  • Define and deliver the target configuration for the STEP
  • Moderate and drive technical decision at overall aircraft level (full STEP including all FlowMod and MaMo), under the technical arbitration of the aircraft fellow architect
  • Ensure consistent implementation of the design to value approach, improving the Life Cycle Cost of the product within the STEP
  • Ensure adherence to the Product Development System (A220 PDS)
  • Ensure on-time, on-cost and on performance (TPO, TLAR) delivery of all FlowMod product changes / modifications in front of the programme (STEP) & Chief Engineer
  • In collaboration with Airbus architects and chief engineering community, drive the overall integration and harmonization across Airbus programs and RSP (Risk Sharing Partner Design&Build) WPs
  • Propose initiatives to consolidate and improve the A220 product and processes

As our ideal candidate,

  • You hold an Engineering bachelor degree or diploma, a masters degree is an asset
  • You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Engineering; Program experience is an asset
  • You have a broad technical skillset ("architect" profile) in systems and structures and are keen on developing this further
  • You have a well developed understanding of business impact of technical decisions
  • You show strong leadership skills in line with the Airbus leadership model
  • You are open minded and you are a great, inter-cultural team player
  • You must be autonomous, and have a strong sense of organization, time and priority management
  • You are fully bilingual (spoken and written) in French and English
  • You are patient, positive and have perseverance.
