Description of the job

As part of a group within Airbus Canada, which is responsible for A220 Flight Operations Customer Support. The Support pilot is responsible for the training of our customers in the Simulator and on the Aircraft.  To gain experience, the Support pilot will assist with the A220 Production Flight testing to validate the compliance to the type design.

In your role, you will : 

  • Provide Initial Pilot Training in the A220 Simulator;
  • Provide Base Training, Entry-Into-Service Support as an "Authorized Flight Instructor" or Authorized Flight Examiner", as applicable;
  • Review and provide inputs for customer flight manuals, flight manual supplements, pilot manuals and other technical engineering reports;
  • Conduct briefing for customer management reviews, as necessary;
  • Provides direct liaison with Customer on specific technical or operational issues;
  • Conduct proper use of safety and risk mitigation methods for the safe operation of the Aircraft and ground equipment;
  • Support Customer Response Centre as required;
  • Support Production Flight Test on an as required basis;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

As our ideal candidate,

  • You must hold the appropriate Canadian ratings and licenses including type ratings on multi-engine turbine powered aircraft with experience in International operations on large aircraft types;
  • You preferably have additional FAA certificate and EASA License;
  • You are familiar with Transport Canada, FAA and EASA Certification processes and procedures;
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or science discipline is preferred;
  • You have the ability to use computer programs for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations;
  • You have good interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations; 
  • You have the ability and willingness to work with irregular hours and work days;
  • You have the ability to travel on short notice.
