Airbus' ties to Canada were deepened in October 2017 when Airbus sought to acquire a majority stake in the C Series Aircraft Limited Partnership (renamed Airbus Canada Limited Partnership in June 2019), the entity that manufactures and sells Bombardier's single-aisle C Series jets- rebranded the A220 Family, with its two versions designated the A220-100 and A220-300.  The partnership markets, manufactures and supports the A220 Family worldwide.

In your role, you will:

  • Be responsible for supervising a team of occupant safety and flammability engineers who produce, review and approve internal and external (supplier) certification plans and reports
  • Be responsible for supervising a team of occupant safety and flammability Transport Canada Delegates (DAD)
  • Manage priorities of the team, ensure adherence to release plans and implement recovery plans to ensure deadlines are met
  • Work closely with other services such as Integration, Airworthiness, Projects, Program Office, Production, Logistics and Quality; as well as, various suppliers
  • Communicate with assembly sites (offshore) and ensure agreement of change implementation plans
  • Be responsible for continuous improvement in your sector
  • Work towards reducing non-quality and improving processes
  • Evaluate employees and support employees' development plans

As our ideal candidate,

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in supervision
  • You show very strong leadership skills, judgment, flexibility, and are able to work with minimum supervision
  • You are results oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and comfortable to work under pressure, and you have a sense of urgency
  • You have a great deal of initiative and a passion to be part of a winning team, and you have strong team work skills
  • You have the ability to put in place quality processes to ensure on time delivery, with clear and common objectives
  • You demonstrate good communication skills, and you have a good level of French and English languages (oral and written)
  • You demonstrate an active participation in governance.
