Description of the job


A vacancy for Security Officer has arisen with Airbus Canada in Mirabel. Are you passionate enough to be responsible of the Security of Airbus in Canada? As such, you will participate in all the Airbus Canada Security operations activities and projects in Canada and globally North America.


As Airbus Canada Security Officer, your role will be to define and implement within the framework of Canada National laws and regulations the Airbus Corporate Policy, Strategy and Directives as defined by Airbus Corporate.


As Mirabel Site Security Officer, you will ensure the overall security over the Mirabel site (Canada) in order to guarantee the protection of the site via the development of site security plan and procedures and the operational management of a security service supplier contracted.


The successful candidate will be accountable for, and lead security operations at Airbus Canada on the Mirabel site (including Fire intervention and Aviation Security) in order to guarantee the protection of Airbus Canada company's integrity, employees, sites, products, assets and information against physical threats and related risks.


The successful candidate will be subject to Canada national security clearance in order to undertake the related work in accordance with business needs.









In your job you will :


  • Implement the transformation of Airbus Canada, define the implementation strategy of the overall Airbus Security Policy and Strategy, in line with Airbus Corporate Head of Security Operations
  • Define, develop and control the implementation of Security Operations, related processes and projects throughout Airbus Canada
  • Check and ensure that all Security Operations activities are compliant with the National laws and regulation. As such develop relationships with national and local authorities and act as focal point for all security matters.
  • Set-up the Airbus Canada security process organization, the way of working in line with Airbus policies and ensure that the security services contracted are providing operational services with expected level of performance
  • Get and manage appropriate budget in order to cover all required security means
  • Ensure that all security risks are identified, reported and managed based on regular security assessments
  • Ensure that all security incidents are captured and recorded into the security incident management system; and major security incidents are properly escalated in line with standards
  • Develop all security contingency plans, and ensure that they are prepared, ready and regularly tested.
  • Develop, implement and manage aviation security standards and performance over Mirabel site to ensure compliance to regulations, mitigation of risks from terrorism and threat to civil aviation and industry with minimal disruption of services
  • Develop, implement and manage Fire Intervention standards and performance over Mirabel site to ensure compliance to Health and Safety regulations, with objective of life saving and minimal disruption of services
  • Develop strong relationships with other functions (Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, Information Management, Facility Management) and offer a high level of security advice and service
  • Maintain excellent relations with external auditing bodies and with national or local law enforcement agencies.
  • Ensure that suitable technology is deployed and correctly maintained on site, for example CCTV (Closed Circuit TV), Access Control, Security Control Centre
  • Implement appropriate security training/information programs to raise general awareness to employees
  • Participate in Airbus Canada crisis management board, and in Mirabel Site Crisis Management Board
  • Lead the coordination with other Group's legal entities implemented in Canada over Security Operations


This position will imply some travels in Canada, USA and Europe and as such, the job holder must be able to travel accordingly.





As our ideal candidate,


  • You are educated to degree level equivalent to MBA or MSc
  • You have solid security knowledge either from Police or Armed Forces, with additional experience in the Industry, or similar position in the Industry
  • You have experience in international environment and if possible with experience of crisis/conflict or disaster
  • You recognized experience on running operations and skills over project management skills and strong sense of leadership over people
  • You have the capacity to be influential at senior management level,
  • You have the ability to interact with other stakeholders at the site, the Company and the Airbus corporate levels
  • You have the ability to interact, represent the company and to negotiate in front of official bodies
