In your role, you will:

  • Report to the engineering structure integration team
  • Work in an Engineering integrated product development team providing expertise from a Design to Cost (DtC) for the design and manufacturing of aerospace components (Metallic & Composite aircraft structure, systems installation and hardware/materials)
  • Participate in the identification of design ideas related to Design to Cost (DtC);
  • Analyze current engineering design and proposed new Design to Cost initiatives;
  • Develop and maintain Design to Cost ideas tracker for Mirabel site and lead/participate in various related governance meetings;
  • Support Design to Cost action plan, coordinate its implementation and draw conclusions;
  • Support recommendation to senior management on strategies to achieve cost reduction targets
  • Support prioritization of cost reduction ideas implementation, based on ROI (Return on Investment) but also other criteria's and program requirements
  • Support processes and strategies around the batching/combination of ideas to ease the implementation of design improvements
  • Review supplier drawings, dimensional tolerances, Datum definition, manufacturing processes, process capabilities, tooling philosophy and provides recommendations as needed;
  • Get involve in the Design to Cost initiative on other airbus programs to see what can be done on A220 program;
  • Support integration team in the preparation of Design to Cost Product Change Request (PCR);
  • Maintain a current and up-to-date knowledge in aerospace in order to recommend innovations to support cost reduction initiatives objectives;

 

As our ideal candidate, you have:

  • University degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering or in a related field of Design
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft structure and manufacturing organization;
  • Good understanding of design, manufacturing and quality processes used in aerospace for metallic and composite structures, system installation and hardware/materials
  • Having prior experience in design to cost activities or other aircraft program optimization activity is an asset
  • Great communication skills: can explain complex problem in simple words;
  • Able and efficient at managing several projects in parallel;
  • You have a high sense of commitment, and a willingness to accept responsibilities while acting independently in a high-pressure and production ramp-up environment;
  • You have working experience using Catia V5 and Microsoft tools
  • You are bilingual (French and English).
  • Able to travel to onsite supplier in USA, Europe and Asia
